Are You Up For It?

"My vision of the office is to do the things that have always been done

but to add a bit of promotion.

I want to spend some time promoting the province,

and promoting the attributes and strengths of our province

to all the business organizations and industries.

I’ve also got 20 years of contacts in the diplomatic service from other countries.

I’m going to point out the advantages

of dealing in our province and investing in our province."

- Bill Casey, MP

What's this got to do with this devotional ???!!!

I'm applying this MP's words to our local youth center.

You can apply it to things in your life you believe are important.

1) "Vision".

Without a vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18

The youth center has a vision.

But do the people of our city know about that vision?

I'm convinced if they knew the vision, they'd get on board!

2) "To do the things that have always been done but to add a bit of promotion."

There are people out there who can help the youth center make a difference!

Who are those people?

Romans 10:14 says,

How can they hear about it unless someone tells them?

And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? Romans 10:15

Are you available to be sent to tell the good news?

3) "Promoting the attributes and strengths of the youth center."

Where do I start?

It's a fun, safe place for teens in our town.

It's a place for followers of Jesus to interact with young people.

To show them we do care about them.

To minister God's love to them.

To give them hope.

4) "To all the business organizations."

The business community is part of our community.

When they understand what the youth center does and its short and long term benefits...

they'll be sold!

5) "I've got...contacts."

And God can give more.

Isn't it exciting that we Christians can start our day, commiting it to the Lord,

asking Him to bring people our way to whom we can minister His love?

I being in the way, the Lord led me. Genesis 24:27

The Lord guides us if we're in "His way"...living according to His principles,

seeking to live for Him, submitting to Him.

6) "Point out the advantages of investing in the youth center."

It's about spreading the word.

Getting people aware.

Promoting.

God might just do some surprisingly unexpected things.

Will do!
