What's It Going to Take

God is working, true.

But we need to be working too.

Working like it all depends on us.

Which, of course, it doesn't.

But God has chosen to limit Himself in some regards

to the prayers of His people.

Someone prayed last night,

"Lord, that we would wake up and pray."

God has also chosen to limit Himself somewhat to our actions.

God has chosen to use willing human vessels

to push back darkness and usher in His kingdom.

Yet we have excuses.

Moses said,

"Who am I to appear before Pharaoh?" Exodus 3:11

"They won't believe me." Exodus 3:13

"They won't do what I tell them." Exodus 4:1

"I'm just not a good speaker." Exodus 4:10

"Send someone else." Exodus 4:13

But...

blessed is the man who delights in doing everything the Lord wants. Psalm 1:2

Why do people waste their time with futile plans? Psalm 2:1

I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. Psalm 3:6

For the Lord is watching over me. Psalm 3:5

Lead me in the right path, O Lord,

tell me clearly what to do, and show me which way to turn. Psalm 5:8
