Christians are apt to lose heart, and if it is still longer delayed, to abandon it altogether.
We need to learn the secret of praying through an issue.
Praying about something until God gives you peace in your spirit that it is accomplished.
What thwarts praying through?
A lack of seriousness these days about the things of God.
Drifting Christians.
Lord, confront us.
Convict us.
Convert us.
Stir us and shake us.
I was challenged in prayer tonight.
You have not... because you ask not.
We keep asking the Lord to move.
So why don't we see the evidence?
Why don't we have what we've been praying for?
The problem is not with Him.
It's with us.
We're not serious enough.
We're not hungering and thirsting enough.
Not that the preponderance of our prayers is what brings the answer.
It has something to do with hanging on.
This stretches our faith and kills our flesh.
Truth is these days we're not persistant.
We're not praying through.
Daniel 10:12...
Then he said to me,
"Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand,
and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.
Daniel 10:13...
"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days;
and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.
Daniel persevered in prayer.
What would have happened if he had given up before the end of the 21 days?
James 5:16...
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
It is powerful and effective.
It produces wonderful results.
The only verse in Scripture that contains the phrase, "Prayer of Faith", is James 5:15.
Though spoken of only once, the prayer title conveys an assurance of success in prayer.
The conviction that life, if lived with Faith in God, rewards with an Eternity spent in God's presence,
encourages us to believe that Faith accomplishes whatever it sets out to do.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 1John 5:4
Combining that faith with prevailing, persistant prayer brings answers.
Lord, make us willing to enter in to a life of praying through.
