We're talking about...life.

Two little lines I heard one day,Traveling along life's busy way;

Bringing conviction to my heart, And from my mind would not depart;

Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last.

Then, in 'that day' my Lord to meet, And stand before His Judgement seat;

Bidding me selfish aims to leave, And to God's holy will to cleave;

Each with its clays I must fulfill, living for self or in His will;

When this bright world would tempt me sore, When Satan would a victory score;

When self would seek to have its way, Then help me Lord with joy to say;

Give me Father, a purpose deep, In joy or sorrow Thy word to keep;

Faithful and true what e'er the strife, Pleasing Thee in my daily life;

Living for Thee, and Thee alone, Bringing Thee pleasure on Thy throne;

The phrase kicking around in my head today is,

"Don't stray too far away from the Word of God."

I know, I know.

Even a little ways away is "too far".

There's so much mixture out there.

In the world. In the church.

What it Truth?

God's Word is Truth.

Jesus is Truth.

Period.

Not Jesus and Oprah and her New Age friends.

Not the Bible and Rick Warren and Brian McLaren and the other emergent guys.

It's Jesus. Jesus alone.

Read His Word. His Word, can I say it?, His Word... alone.

Let His Word wash over you.

Not some favorite writer's words.

The world is corrupting.

They talk junk.

The church talks a lot of junk too.

Mixture.

Bad.

Remember,

Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? 1 Corinthians 5:6

How we need to get back to the Word.
