Show Us Where to Fish

Give us a heart like Yours, Lord.

A heart for the lost.

Do we really believe in "lostness"?

Do we really believe people who fail to make a choice for Jesus in this life go to a literal hell for eternity?

If we really believed that, wouldn't it make a difference in the way we lived/spent our time?

Trust me. I'm speaking to myself here too.

I need help to get with The Plan, God's plan.

I like something our pastor prayed last night at the corporate, i.e. church, prayer meeting.

"Let Your healing go all across our community."

Not just inside the walls of the church building.

What are we doing?

Why are we doing what we're doing?

Isn't it time to get our directions from the CEO?

There are a lot of things going on.

Church meeting here. Church meeting there.

We pray that His Truth would prevail.

Let it spring up.

That we would want His will.

That He would make us fishers of men.

Jesus noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge,

for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets.

Stepping into one of the boats,

Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water.

So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,

"Now go out where it is deeper,

(launch out into the deep)

and let down your nets to catch some fish."

"Master," Simon replied,

"We worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing.

But

if you say so,

I’ll let the nets down again."

And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear!

A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat,

and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking.

They were amazed!

Jesus said, "Don’t be afraid!

From now on you’ll be fishing for people!"

And as soon as they landed,

they left everything and followed Jesus. Luke 2:5-11

I was reminded of another story of the disciples fishing.

Jesus came upon them and asked them how it was going.

They replied they'd been at it all night with no results.

He said,

"Throw your nets on the other side,

the "right" side of the boat, and you'll get some!"

So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.

There were 153 large fish, and yet the net hadn’t torn. John 21:4-11

What's Jesus' plan?

Fish.

In obedience to His directions.

The following is from - http://www.etpv.org/2005/cynoto.html

* It's Time for the Night to be Over.

* It's Time for Jesus to Manifest Himself.

* It's Time to Cast your Net on the Right Side.

* It's Time to Change Garments.

* It's Time to Throw Yourself into His Presence and Purposes.

* It's Time for Nets that will Work.

* It's Time for the Lord to Go Before Us.

* It's Time for the Catch to be Preserved.

It's time to get Jesus in our boats!

But when He gets there, He will speak change!

He will tell us to cast our nets on the other side of the boat.

Are you ready for something new?

Then prayerfully consider the points listed above.

Ask the Lord what it means to cast your net on the other side of the boat,

and go fishing with Jesus!
