Christian Commentary Encouraging Devotions

This was written by a young guy who travels the world for Burn 24-7...

"I felt like 2011 would be a year of significance
as God aligns and shifts us into a place
for an outpouring in the season ahead.

from physical moves (new homes, cities, nations)
for many of our leaders to a change in jobs to much more!"

Is there a move God wants for you?
I know He can answer you in ways that you just can't deny.

It's very important to "get a word",
meaning a word from the Lord.

It's nice and right when circumstances line up,
but... if you have a word...
it can carry you through the tough times.

Where is the wise man?
Where is the scholar?
Where is the philosopher of this age?
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 1 Corinthians 2:20

I had a very dramatic answer
when I went from public school teaching to a Christian school.

I had asked God for specific direction.
I waited upon Him in His Word.

I was meditating on a scripture portion in Jeremiah.
Three words stuck out.
Yield, enter and serve.
As I meditated on those three words,
I noticed they spelt Y - E - S ! Yes!
I KNEW that God wanted me to move.
It was pretty obvious.

On the strength of that and other things lining up,
I went to the Christian school.
(Other things like prayer, personal evaluated prophecy,
multitude of counsellors,
and, yes, circumstances.)

When the tough times came, and they did,
I had God's Word to stand upon.

It's not just for moves that we need a Word from the Lord.
My wife clung to, "All your sons will be taught of the Lord',
during a time when that didn't seem like a possibility.
But God in His mercy and goodness and faithfulness to His Word
has made that scripture a reality!
For which we never cease to thank Him.

So, if you're seeking direction,
what I suggest is that you make it a priority to read the Bible.
Be relaxed.
You don't have to force it...
ask God to speak to you through His Word and I believe He will!
