God bought you and me with the shed blood of Jesus. "Your body is the temple, the very sanctuary of the Holy Spirit Who lives in you, Whom you have received as a gift from God. Don't you know this? So you must honor God with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Within Your temple, O God, we meditate on Your unfailing love. Psalm 48:9 Within ourselves we meditate on His love for us. This came from Reinhard Bonnke... If we talk of salvation, it is His presence only that saves. It doesn’t come by registered mail from Heaven. He not only brings it, but IS. He is Salvation. It happens to us only when we are "in Christ." "There is now therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus." "Christ in us, the Hope of Glory." He didn’t found a religious system and give out orders while we worked at it. He is the God of our salvation, not our Boss to get salvation. "It is God that works in you." Jesus only! He said, "Come unto me and I will give you rest." Just come! Jesus does the saving work. Unfortunately, many don’t like that. They want to boast a bit for what they do towards it. If Christ gives us rest when we come, they make it hard work to come. Churches invent tortuous processes to get to Jesus. People want to get some credit, some reputation as worthy saints. They make coming a great achievement and their religion has hard rules, hard labours, hard discipline, hard praying and fasting, hard self-denials, hard preaching, even hard pews. Some make it the work of a lifetime to get to Him and think they can never be sure. They really are making it sound cynical – "If you come you will find rest, but you’ll need it after you have come, because it’s hard work." They only expect rest in the graveyard. Jesus never suggested such arduous processes were needed. All we need to do is accept Him. His commands are simple; "Come unto me!" "Believe in me!" "Follow me!"
