Deception

You are in error

because

you do not know the Scriptures

or

the power of God. Matthew 22:29

You are mistaken.

You are deceived.

1) Self-deception.

Although they knew God,

they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him,

but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Romans 1:21

They began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like.

As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

2) Ignornance of the spiritual content of Scripture.

The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus,

yet in condemning Him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath. Acts 13:27

3) Disbelief in the intervention of divine power.

They deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed

and the earth was formed out of water and by water.

By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed.

By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire,

being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men. 2 Peter 3:5-7

How to avoid error and deception.

1) Recognize the value of Scripture.

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,

that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

Someone prayed last night...

Passion and hunger for Your Word imparts life.

2) Pray for God's help.

Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures. Luke 24:45

3) Believe in the power of God.

Ah Lord God! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth

by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee. Jeremiah 32:17

Someone prayed last night...

Teach us to allow You to work.

May there be a release of Your power.

P.S. Also from last night's prayer room...

Rescue the perishing!

Snatch from the fire!

We bind the work of the enemy.

We believe for the return of the prodigals.
