Missing the Power

My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14

If Your Presence does not go with us,

do not send us up from here. Exodus 33:15

Unless you go with us...

what else will distunguish Your people

from all the other people on the face of the earth? Exodus 33:16

If you listen and do...

I will be an enemy to your enemies

and will oppose those who oppose you. Exodus 23:22

I do not trust in my bow.

My sword does not bring me victory,

but You give us victory over our enemies. Psalm 44:6-7

Why are you so disturbed? Put your hope in God. Psalm 43:5

My enemy does not triumph over me. Psalm 41:11

Man! I missed the binding and loosing Bible study Saturday night!

I think this verse (Matt. 16:19 & Matt. 18:18) has been misused and abused,

but there's a power tool there that we're not using.

I've been meditating of late about the missing power.

Whatever happened to child-like faith?

Leanne lost her cell phone.

I said I'd pray. I did.

Lurking in the recesses of my mind were things like

"Is God interested in a cell phone?"

No, devil, God's interested in Leanne!

It's causing His child Leanne grief and He doesn't want that.

She's trusting Him. I'm trusting Him.

"If you have faith...nothing will be impossible for you." Matt. 17:20.

Does "nothing" mean, ahh, "nothing"?

Really?

No small print?

When it says, "If two of you agree about anything you ask for, it will be done,"

Matt.18:19.

So, does that, ahh, mean like..."anything"?

And how about, "Believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matt. 21:22

Pardon me, does that really mean, "whatever"?

We've been wary of name it/claim it, blab it/grab it, etc.

And wary we should be.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun.

God's not a heavenly vending machine.

But let's not limit God (as if that we're even possibly to limit Him).

Rather, let's not limit what He wants to do in and through us.

He sure does want to bless His children.

"You have great faith. Your request is granted." Matt. 15:28

"What do you want Me to do for you?" Matt.20:32

P.S. Thank You, Lord, for Leanne's found cell phone.
