Sensing a Distance

Many things conspire to keep us from communing with God.

Busyness is one.

Work. Visiting family.

Attractions.

The affairs of this life.

Some things are even good things.

Some points:-

1) You have to fight for prayer times.

It has to be a consuming desire.

Like in Psalm 27...

One thing have I desired of the Lord.

That...that one thing... will I seek after.

An act of my will.

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.

The house of the Lord?

His Presence.

Desire it. Desire HIM.

Seek after it. Seek HIM.

2) Keep it fresh.

Don't get into a rut.

God's creative. You be to.

There should be excitement attached to seeking Him.

3) There are levels in God.

Just heard a TV preacher saying there are three levels of meditation.

One where you run it through your mind without speaking.

Secondly you mumble it under your breath.

Then there's roaring it.

"Declaring the Word of God into your situation."

Now, I'm no "name it and claim it/ blab it and grab it", but...

wouldn't you rather be confessing the Word of God then the lies of the enemy?

I believe there are levels in praying.

As a worker at the youth centre said last night...

"When you;re going, you're going."

You have to a) start, b) persist, c) arrive.
