"God is the God of inconvenience, because if He were the God of convenience
it would require little character to follow Him.
'Many are called, but few are chosen.'
The difference between "the many" and "the few" is that "the few" have a revelation that God is the God of inconvenience,
and "the many" still cling to the idea that He is the God of convenience.
God will use circumstance upon circumstance to develop our character because His ultimate goal is to see Christ developed in us.
Jacob wrestled with God because he had a revelation that God is the God of inconvenience.
Joseph endured the dungeon because he recognized the same thing.
Joseph refused to blame his brothers for his years of misfortune -
'So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God'. Genesis 45:8
God will separate "the few" from "the many" by their appetite for God and His will.
Are we willing to be inconvenienced for His sake?"
"There’s just no room for pursuing a life that is centered in self.
Our purpose is to submit to God’s desires, to put His desires above our own.
Just because I want something doesn’t make it right.
Just because I don’t want something doesn’t make it wrong.
The question is, 'Is this what God wants?'
And if God’s desires differ from mine, I’m the one who needs to adjust."
When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus,
"Blessed is the man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God."
Jesus replied: "A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.
At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited,
‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
But they all alike began to make excuses.
The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’
Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’
Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’
The servant came back and reported this to his master.
Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant,
‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’
‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’
Then the master told his servant,
‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.
I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’ " Luke 14:15-23
"Look for God in the less obvious situations of your life.
Interruptions may provide opportunities for genuine ministry and service to others.
God can use any person who is willing to be inconvenienced by the unexpected."
