I enjoy conversations that somehow bring into play talk about the Lord. Scripture. What we think He's showing us. I would say that should be part of our daily conversation. What's exciting is that it's not a contrived thing as it was sometimes for me in the past. Now it's more relaxed, more happening in an Emmaus Road fashion. Which is so fine. You can't always go from light to serious immmediately. Just like we sing songs to get us "in the mood" for the message, we usually talk general before getting into specific. Light to serious. General to specific. Causal to intimate. I don't want to formalize this or spiritualize it, but it is good when it happens. A friend shared, "I am thinking the Lord is pleased when we talk together and let Him show up in our midst. When He shows up, it makes it kind of fun and then we can start realizing it is a joy to do, not something we have to do." I asked for prayer last night re: another disconnect. Between what WE think should happen and what HE wants to happen. Need deliverance from a mindset. Example, church. Should a service always be singing, announcements, offering, sermon, handshake, lunch? Just asking. Example, junior youth. Should it be come in, sit and listen...or... roam the halls and connect where possible. Just asking. Through it all don't become weary in well doing. Don't faint. Stand on the promises of God. May His grace prevail in every situation. May the enemy be thwarted. May we seize every opportunity for Him to show Himself mighty. Let our services, meetings, lives be done the way He wants it to be done. When the answer's slow in coming... Lord, give us the heart to prevail.
