Christian Commentary Encouraging Devotions

One of the guys at the youth centre said he had finished reading a Bible comic book.

"By the way, it's got a great ending!" he said.

I love that!

Have you checked out the ending lately?

I'm starting to think I need to be "Spirit-led" in my Bible readings.

There's value in starting at Page 1 and reading straight through, true.

But I'm at a season where I think I need to act on a heavenly impulse.

Like the other night when I "felt" to read Colossians 3:16.

Bang on.

2) Wednesday night...

God is waiting for the return of the prodigals.

Keep praying and pushing back the darkness in their lives.

May they (and we) respond to His Word.

To respond to it...you have to know what it is, right?

Believe for restoration. Believe!

3) Friday night...

Challenge the youth who made decisions for the Lord.

Challenge them?

Challenge us!

Connect with the youth.

Pray for those who are against the gospel for whatever reason.

- Bad experience with phoney Christians.

- Unwillingness to submit to His Lordship.

- Indifference.

- Lack of understanding.

Whatever wall that's there...God can demolish.

Here's a good one...

You can't take them where you haven't gone.

It's got to be real in your life.

If it isn't...confess that and get started now!

Me minus Jesus equals mess.

Totally.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you...richly.

Spend time.

Just when you think you've arrived...reality check...

you haven't.

Jesus said, "It is finished."

But, we aren't.

He was talking about the work on the cross.

The necessary sacrifice.

He is the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

We need to relinguish.

Leave behind...

stuff that separates us from Him.

Renounce.

Surrender.

Give up how WE think things should be.

Our ways defintely aren't His. Isaiah 55:8-9
