Tiger Woods cited the role of Buddhism in his life -

and he says he will look to it to help him recover from serial infidelity.

In January, Fox News analyst Brit Hume said Woods should turn to Jesus to deal with his sins.

I'm praying he will.

"I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior..."

The first act on the road to recovery is confession.

Not sugar-coated.

Pure and simple admission of guilt.

"I have let down my family.

I have let you down, I have let down my fans...

I have bitterly disappointed all of you.

I have made you question who I am...

For all that I have done, I am so sorry.

I was unfaithful. I had affairs.

I was wrong. I was foolish.

I don't get to play by different rules. ... I brought this shame on myself.

It's up to me to start living a life of integrity.

Elin and I have started the process of discussing the damage caused by my behaviour.

As Elin pointed out to me, my real apology to her will not come in the form of words, but it will come from my behavior in time.

It's hard to admit that I need help, but I do.

For 45 days I was in inpatient therapy receiving guidance for the issues I'm facing.

Starting tomorrow, I will leave for more treatment and more therapy.

I will return to golf someday...

Now I didn't listen to the whole appearance,

but in what I heard I did not hear,

"Please forgive me."

Which is quite different from just saying you're sorry.

I'm not condemning Tiger.

I'm urging him to seek forgiveness from a living Savior.

It will make an eternity of difference.
