he still questions himself, just like everyone else.

Let us throw off everything that hinders

and the sin that so easily entangles,

let us strip off every weight, every encumbrance, that slows us down

especially the sin that so easily trips us up

and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

the race God has set before us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus,

the author and perfecter of our faith,

who for the joy set before Him endured the cross,

scorning its shame,

and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

What weight is slowing you down?

Do you know the race God has marked out for you?

Jonah is a fascinating story.

God told him to go to Nineveh with a message of impending doom.

God in His mercy wanted to give them a chance to turn to Him.

Instead, Jonah ran from the Lord.

It's interesting how our actions affect those around us.

Jonah caused the sailors to be caught up in the same storm he was in.

The sailors threw him overboard

and the Lord rescued him.

Jonah received a second chance.

This time he obeyed.

What's God telling you to do?

Are you running from God?

Or are you running the race,

the one God has marked out before you?

Running with perseverance.

With your eyes fixed on Jesus.

Keeping your eyes on Jesus.
