Are We Desperate?

What does "desperate" look like?

"Holy discontent," says one.

Disatisfaction with the status quo.

Thriving versus just surviving.

We need to be "quick studies" in this time and age we live in.

Do you believe time's short?

"Desperate" involves a giving of our time

to pursue what's really important, Him.

"Desperate" will move us to action.

Seeking Him.

Relentlessly seeking Him.

Bible says, be anxious for nothing.

So, "desperate" doesn't include nail biting.

But there's got to be some emotion involved.

Some passion.

Remember the widow who kept bugging the judge?

She was one brassy asker.

"Desperate" involves persistence and asking, asking, asking.

Can we work up "desperate"?

We need God to do a work in our heart.

Without Him we can do no-thing.

Our strength lacks.

"Desperate" is a dependence thing.

It's a surrendering.

Lord, I can't do it, but you can.

And I'm knock, knock, knockin' on Your door.

Watch out for the creature comforts.

The distractions.

The things that will try and keep us from being about the Master's business.

When God speaks to us, let us be quick first responders.

Not my will, but Yours be done.

Do you sense the urgency?

Jeremiah 33:3 is the rallying cry.
