We've been clearing out my late father-in-law's basement. He was a farmer. And a pack rat. Tons of nuts and bolts and screws and who-knows-what. It was important to him. Now it's not. He knew Jesus so he doesn't need it where he is now with Him. How important is stuff to us? How important are our trivial little involvements? In the light of eternity. Did you know that you can affect eternity? It's called the weekly prayer meeting. Lord, raise our faith levels. May we believe You for a sovereign work of Your Spirit. May we not hinder the work of Your Spirit. Come like the rain. In our time. Actually in YOUR time. We grab hold of the horns of the altar. Desperate for Your move. In our lives. In our world. You know what I long for, Lord. Psalm 38:9 May we expect You to move. Draw us. Draw Your people. Through whatever means You choose. Show us what to do. Our part. Restore. Reconcile. Break off the lie people are believing. Root out the root. May we sense the urgency. So much is fleeting. Just nuts and bolts and who-knows-what. Meaningless in the big scheme of things. What is important? Our prayers here affect here and after. Unleash the desire to pray. To seek Your face.
