He says when he reads God's Word... he likes to look for something he can carry with him throughout the day. Here's what I've been carrying, literally. I wrote it out on a small slip of paper. Monday... "Do not be afraid, for I will protect you." Gen. 15:1 "And he (Abram) believed God." Gen. 15:6 Those were for my work situation. Another one I needed... "Refuse to slander others...or speak evil." Psalm 15:3 This is a trap we can fall into all too easily. Whether at work, in church circles, even about our political leaders... The Bible says, Who may worship in Your sanctuary, Lord? Who may enter Your presence in Your holy hill? Those who refuse to gossip (or slander others) or harm their neighbours or speak evil of their friends. Psalm 15:1-3 You can see how serious God considers this. Then for Tuesday... Return to your mistress (or master) and submit to her (or his) authority. Hagar referred to the Lord, who had spoken to her, as "the God who sees me." Gen.16:9,13 Isn't that comforting? He's the God who sees me. Wherever I am. At work (A lot happens at work!) Everywhere. He sees me. I said to the Lord, "You are my Master." I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. Psalm 16:2,8 I can testify... in a work situation today...this verse works! I'm excited about what I'll find tomorrow in God's Word.
