I've been stuck the past few days in Psalm 105.
I'm convinced if I was sentenced to a desert island and only had one book to take...
it would be Psalms!
Man, they minister!
Thank You, God, for Psalms!
:1 Make known His deeds among the people.
Make known among the nations what He has done.
:4 Seek the Lord and His strength: seek His face evermore.
Continually.
Search for the Lord and for His strength,
and keep on searching.
Seek His face (or Presence) always.
:10 To the people of Israel (the church) He said,
"I will give you the land...as your special possession."
As the portion you will inherit.
And here's an important point...
:12 He said this when they were few in number.
:13 They wandered back and forth...
:14 Yet he did not let anyone oppress them.
:17 He sent someone ahead of them.
Here is the story of Joseph...sold as a slave...put in prison...
:19 Until the time came to fulfill His word.
Until the time His word came to pass.
There is a time for everything (so says Ecclesiastes).
Has God given you a word?
Has its time come to pass?
Cling to His Word.
Allow His strength always to carry you through.
Do you know what's happening during the waiting time?
Sure, you are seeking Him and His strength.
Sure, you are being protected from oppressors in whatever shape or form.
Sure, you may be in prison situations, even enslaved.
But what is God up to, what is He doing?
:19 Until the time came to fulfill His word,
the Lord tested Joseph's character.
May we, through God's grace, pass the test.
That the world may know that He is King of kings and Lord of lords.
