Six of the twenty items for prayer last night were for healing...
I read this verse this morning...
The sick begged Jesus to let them at least touch the hem of His garment,
and all who touched Him were healed.
All who touched Jesus were healed.
Do you have faith to touch Him today?
Early on in the prayer meeting I "got" the verse from Psalms,
"I lift my eyes up unto the mountains. Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD." Psalm 121:1-2
Later as we were praying I had the thought...
This didn't catch God unawares.
God know all about the things we're praying about.
It's not like we have to let Him know about them or anything for that matter.
He's omniscient, all knowing.
Then, a fragment of a verse...
(Those who trust in the Lord have) no fear of bad news.
I saw this in a different light.
No fear WHEN bad news comes.
AND no fear that bad news WILL come.
It gets rid of the "what if" 's.
God is totally trustworthy.
No fear.
In fact fear's one of the opposites of faith.
Without faith it's impossible to please God.
So having fear causes Him displeasure.
Perfect love, i.e. God, casts out fear.
Also at prayer...
We have to see things from a different perspective.
We're seated with Him in heavenly places. Present tense.
Seeing what's happening in the spiritual realm from our heavenly vantage point
makes a huge difference!
And regarding having an impact for God in our world,
He wants us to be available, ready and listening for instructions.
Takes the sweat off when He's in control.
I get itchy thinking I'm not "doing" enough.
I'm not.
Does that mean I get out there and "do"?
Not exactly.
Means waiting, anticipating, listening for His marching orders.
Recently I obeyed one directive and it's been such a blessing.
You never know where God will lead you.
But...He knows where He'll lead you...
and that's all that really matters.
