Are you a husband/wife, father/mother, worker, volunteer?

How about a child of God?

How about a disciple, a follower of Jesus?

Whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed,

and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. Mark 4:22

When He was alone with His disciples, He explained everything. Mark 4:34

He was about to pass by them.

They thought He was a ghost.

"Take courage!" He said. "It is I. Don't be afraid." Mark 6:48-52

Do we sometimes have trouble recognizing Jesus?

"These people honor Me with their lips,

but their hearts are far from Me.

"You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men." Mark 7:6-8

"Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? Mark 8:17

"You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men." Mark 8:33

And just what are the things of God?

"Everything is possible for him who believes." Mark 9:23

Look at this promise in context...

It's the healing of the boy with an evil spirit. Mark 9:14-24

The father says, "If You (Jesus) can do anything..."

Jesus responds, "If I can?"

If I can? If I can?

You see there's absolutely no question of Jesus' ability to do anything.

When He says, "Everything is possible for him who believes," He's implying,

Everything is possible for him who believes...that I can.

Not believing that you or I can do anything based on believing that we can.

It's believing that He and only He can.
