Christian Commentary Encouraging Devotions

Our church started a four week deal today.

It's called "Just Walk Across the Room".

Bill Hybels cited Colossians 4:2-6.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message,

so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders;

make the most of every opportunity.

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt,

so that you may know how to answer everyone.

He said you should (1) develop conversations with people.

You should (2) discover their stories.

You should (3) discern what the next step is,

i.e. how to get the conversation eventually turned around to Jesus.

The most important thing in witnessing?

Being attentive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

And co-operating with Him when He prompts you.
