Paul's writing in Philippians 2:2.

From the Message...

If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ,

if His love has made any difference in your life,

if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you,

if you have a heart, if you care -

then do me a favour...

this is what will fulfill my joy...

agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, living in harmony, having hearts that beat together,

hey, agree with each other!

THAT would make me totally joyful, says Paul.

Do you know there's the power in agreement?

I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for,

it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. Matthew 18:19

Having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

United in spirit, intent on one purpose.

Unity makes for joy-ity!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my own kids getting along together.

When I hear of them talking on the phone together.

When I hear about them getting together and wanting to get together.

It wasn't always this way...the boys getting along together!

It's a picture of God our Father looking down on His kids...

seeing them getting along...enjoying each other!

Brings JOY to the father heart of God!

...we can only be likeminded with each other if we're being likeminded with God.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,"

declares the Lord.

As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8, 9

"I don't think the way you think.

The way you work isn't the way I work." So says God.

Philippians 2:3 says,

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;

selfish ambition or vain conceit

Don't be selfish, don't try to impress others.

Don't push your way to the front (like in store lineups),

don't sweet-talk your way to the top.

God wants there to be harmony in the church and through Paul he's about to give the key...
