The words of these songs, I believe, can be a picture of the Lord speaking to us.

Except for "if you're mad get mad, don't hold it all inside" and

"I'm a lot like you".

The not holding it all inside part is good.

The "if you're mad, get mad" part... I'm not so sure.

And God's definitely not a lot like me or you!

Although...Jesus was tempted as we are tempted (but He didn't sin.) So He does understand what we go through for sure.

O Lord, listen to my cry;

Give me the discerning mind You promised.

Give me understanding according to Your word.

Stand ready to help me,

for I have chosen to follow Your commands.
