There's another big work challenge tomorrow, but that's the key, it's... tomorrow. Today is today. There's grace and peace for today and bright hope for tomorrow.
People and things will mess with your mind. Stay focused. Seek God. Four minutes into my prayer time...a sense of His presence came. And with His presence...His peace. Priceless.
2 Cor. 3But I fear that somehow you will be led away from your pure and simple devotion to Christ, just as Eve was deceived by the serpent.
Pure and simple devotion to Christ. We must stay focused on this. There IS the spectre of being "led away" from it.
4You seem to believe whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach about a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. (NLT)
A different Jesus? A different Spirit? a different kind of gospel?
See how important it is to stay close to the Word of God. How do we know the real Jesus? (I had a call last night from someone watching "The Passion of the Christ" wanting to know where it says in the Bible that Jesus suffered the way it's depicted in the movie. You can read about that in Isaiah 53.)
Test the spirit. Don't accept a "gospel" that doesn't line up with the full counsel of God, His written Word. And by the way, there's only one interpretation of scripture. Not mine, not yours, not the flaming evangelist's. God interprets His own Word. Read it. Meditate on it. Ask Him to speak to you from it and about it.
Psalm 53: 2
God looks down from heaven
on the entire human race;
he looks to see if there is even one with real understanding,
one who seeks for God.
3
But no, all have turned away from God;
all have become corrupt.
No one does good,
not even one! (NLT)
That's why He sent a Savior. Will you seek Him today for all that you need...peace for today and hope for tomorrow.
