2 Sam.17:10Then even the bravest of them, though they have the heart of a lion, will be paralyzed with fear. (NLT) "...melt with fear." (NIV) "... completely lose heart." (NASB) "...fall apart." (MSG)
Ever been paralyzed with fear? Ever fall apart? Lose heart? Over family members, health concerns, work challenges, church directions, world turmoil, all of the above? Fear is a very real adversary that needs to be dealt with. Remember... "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Tim. 1:7 (KJV) "...power, love, and self-discipline." (NLT)
Psalm 119:133 says, Guide my steps by your word,
so I will not be overcome by any evil (including fear). (NLT)
Direct my footsteps according to your word;
let no sin (including fear) rule over me.(NIV)
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity (including fear) have dominion over me. (KJV)
Steady my steps with your Word of promise
so nothing malign (like fear) gets the better of me.(MSG)
So the antidote to fear is His Word. But it's also our words...
Prov.16:13The king is pleased with righteous lips; he loves those who speak honestly. (NLT)
Kings take pleasure in honest lips;
they value a man who speaks the truth. (NIV)
And what is the truth? God's Word. Speak God's Word.
When fear comes knocking on your door, run to the Rock. Read His Word, speak His Word...and speak it (you knew I was going to say this) out loud!
