Dealing With Irritants

The afore-mentioned "teaser" comes from Proverbs 18:4

Hope this works for you. Does for me.

It's actually quite amazing.

Something at work on the weekend bothered me.

Has to do with my desire for perfection.

Which, by the way, is unattainable in this life.

I had this thought.

"Give it to Jesus."

Just give it to Jesus.

As I meditated on this, something happened.

The stress of the irritant lifted.

I did tell the Lord that I might have to give it to Him several more times.

But it worked!

Giving it to Jesus works.

Whatever the "it" is.

Singing helps too.

"Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in His wonderful face.

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace."

"Cast your burden upon the Lord

and He will sustain you.

He will never allow the righteous to be shaken." Psalm 55:22

"Why should I feel discouraged

Why should the shadows come

Why should my heart fell lonely

And long for heaven and home

When Jesus is my portion

A constant friend is he

His eye is on the sparrow

And I know He watches over me

His eye is on the sparrow

And I know He watches me

I sing because I'm happy

I sing because I'm free

His eye is on the sparrow

And I know he watches me."

"Give up and let Jesus take over

And He will make a way for you."
