"Changing our world."
"Effecting change."
Two conversations recently with a common theme.
Do you really want to stay like you are?
Do you really want your world to stay like it is?
Christian life demands change.
After all, it starts with change.
Repentance, right?
And it continues with change.
From glory to glory. Maturing in Christ.
Forgetting the former things, pressing on.
But how?
Are you expecting God to speak to you?
All the time? In various and sundry ways?
Not just in the Sunday service?
We're scratching the surface in all this, but He's enabling us to learn.
God is speaking. Are we listening?
I'll pour out a spirit of wisdom upon you. Proverbs 1:23
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Proverbs 1:7
It's the beginning. So there's more to come.
Here's a key...
...they hated knowledge
and chose not to fear the Lord.
They rejected my advice
and paid no attention when I corrected them.
Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way,
choking on their own schemes.
For simpletons turn away from me—to death.
Fools are destroyed by their own complacency.
But all who listen to me will live in peace,
untroubled by fear of harm. Proverbs 1:29-33
...listen to what I say,
and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver;
seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord,
and you will gain knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:1-5
And Spirit-led action is what He's after.
