"Maybe because your head's in the way." Morgan Freeman's character, also dying of cancer.

The movie is a message about living intentionally and with purpose.

So, what would be high on my list before I kick the proverbial bucket?

Witness for Christ.

How am I doing?

It's like the other day when I was blogging about bringing the prayer room into the real world.

We're so bold praying big prayers in the safety of the prayer room.

When it comes to offering prayer on the spot for a co-worker with health concerns, all I mustered was,

"I prayed for you at church."

Better than nothing, but...

Of course the enemy tries to beat you over the head with this.

Don't let him!

All you can do is confess your weakness and ask the Lord to help next time.

When Jesus was arrested, everyone deserted Him and fled. Mark 14:50

Peter disowned Jesus three times. Mark 14:66-72.

How often we disown and deny Jesus by not speaking up when there's opportunity.

Again, all we can do is confess our weakness and ask the Lord to help next time.

Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them.

He had Jesus flogged, and handed Him over to be crucified. Mark 15:15

"Wanting to satisfy the crowd."

Many moons ago I revealed my people pleasing addiction.

How about making it our aim to please the Lord.

There's a verse like that somewhere.

Not the crowd. Not my family. Not my boss.

Satisfying God first.

What satisfies Him?

A humble, contrite heart.

Obedience. Worship.

Putting Him first.

"Abba, Father, Jesus said,

"Everything is possible for You.

Take this cup from Me.

Yet not what I will, but what You will." Mark 14:36
