Christian Commentary Encouraging Devotions

We were praying last night for manifestations of God's power... like healings.

Then I read this morning...

"Why do you people keep demanding a miraculous sign?" Mark 8:12

Now, of course, Jesus was responding to the Pharisees who were testing Him to see if He was from God.

So the shoe doesn't exactly fit, but it gave me pause.

Don’t you know or understand even yet?

Are your hearts too hard to take it in?

‘You have eyes—can’t you see? You have ears—can’t you hear?’

Don’t you remember anything at all?

When I fed the 5,000 with five loaves of bread, how many baskets of leftovers did you pick up afterward?"

"Twelve," they said.

"And when I fed the 4,000 with seven loaves, how many large baskets of leftovers did you pick up?"

"Seven," they said.

"Don’t you understand yet?" he asked them. Mark 8:17-21

The Lord has been doing miracles all around us!

Still not wrong to pray that He'd burden us to draw near.

That He'd help us flee the idols in our lives.

Idols of pleasure, fear, lack of vision.

We are far from what He wants us to be.

Lord, as we are moving into a new season in the natural,

please move us into a new season of the Spirit.

One of increased dependency and expectancy.

That we might grow in grace.

From glory to glory.

Expose strongholds.

Remove the veils from our eyes that we might see clearly.

Help us invest our talents wisely for Your kingdom.

Spirit of God arise!
