Ashamed of the Gospel?

Ashamed =

feeling shame;

distressed or embarrassed by feelings of guilt, foolishness, or disgrace;

unwilling or restrained because of fear of shame, ridicule, or disapproval.

What's holding me back from sharing?

Roman 1:16 is convicting me.

I ask forgiveness.

If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins,

He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises)

and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness]

and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. 1 John 1:9

If we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—

he won't let us down; he'll be true to himself.

He'll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,

and the authority of his Christ.

For the accuser of our brothers,

who accuses them before our God day and night,

has been hurled down. Revelation 12:10

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb

and by the word of their testimony;

they did not love their lives so much

as to shrink from death. Revelation 12:11

They did not shrink from embarrassment

or feelings of guilt, foolishness, or disgrace

or fear of shame, ridicule, or disapproval.

We need to be healed to be made free to be able to serve the hurting.

Lord, deliver us from patterns of behavior, from bondage.

May we be receptive to Your Word

and responsive to what You call us to do.

Doers, not just hearers.

Activate in us the faith of Abraham.

Against all hope, hope being gone, Abraham in hope believed.

When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway,

deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do

but on what God said he would do. Romans 4:18
