"Anything is good as long as nobody gets hurt"
is rampant in church circles these days.
Anything is NOT necessarily good.
Even if nobody gets hurt.
Hearkens back to the "if it feels good, do it" situational ethics of years ago.
The church is little different from the world in so many ways these days.
Where's the old time religion?
And what's wrong with wanting it?
Weekly church prayer rooms are weakly attended.
We need a national/international return to the Bible.
We don't need seminars per se.
We don't need books upon books to show us The Way.
Which often is Another Way.
Jesus says it best when He says, I Am The Way."
I'm not a big fan of the word "Jehovah",
but let's look at this song...
Jehovah Jireh My Provider
You are more than enough for me
Jehovah Rapha You're my healer
By your stripes I've been set free
Jehovah Shammah You are with me
To Supply All My Needs
You are more than enough
More than enough
You are more than enough for me
- Vickie Winans
What does this song focus on?
Is it "me, me, me" or 'Him, Him, Him"?
My wants, my needs?
Look, truth is... I'm a needy person.
Every hour, right now, later today at work.
Even later when I'm making choices re: TV viewing.
I need Him. I need Jesus.
No one else. Nothing else.
OK, I do need the support of Christian brothers and sisters.
I do need unsaved people around that I can be a witness to.
You know what I mean.
Bottom line. It's only Him I need.
Anything else, anyone else, and I'm into idol territory.
You are my supply
My breath of life
Still more awesome than I know.
You are my reward
Worth living for
Still more awesome than I know.
And all of you
Is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need.
You satisfy me with your love
And all I have in you is more than enough
You 're my sacrifice
Of greatest price
Still more awesome than I know.
You 're my coming King.
You 're my everything
Still more awesome than I know.
And all of you
Is more than enough for
All of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with your love
And all I have in you is more than enough
You are more than enough.
More than all I want
More than all I need
You are more than enough for me.
More than all I know
More than all I can see
You are more than enough for me.
